RegionalsThis weekend is the 4WD Regional at Plough. For those that haven’t been before, it’s an all grass track located behind the The Plough Inn in Leigh (Tonbridge). Map and Address are here: http://www.theploughatleigh.com/contact-us
So last weekend saw the rollercoaster that is the 1/10th off-road National Series come to our region courtesy of Eden Park Raceway. First off, the EPR crew (Steve, Shareef, Charles and others) did a fantastic job in preping the venue. The new astro and lick of paint made the track look great. Unfortunately the weather would play its part and while it was all fine for the early part of Saturday, that would prove to be the only dry running we would see all weekend.
The thunder, lightening and rain came in towards the end of Q3 and that set the tone for the rest of the weekend. It didn’t stop some outstanding performances though with FORCC stars Nathan and Kyle making the A Final, Ed made the B and George the C.
In the National Series, you get a little momento when you make your first A Final and somebody did in 2WD…
Further down the field we had Stu in the E Final, Myself and Callum in the G, Matthew in the I, and Jack and Ian in the J.
Sunday 4WD…So Sunday started wet and just got wetter as the day went on. To try and beat the weather practice would be cut short and qualifying would start an hour earlier. By the end of Q3 the track was saturated and had become difficult to marshal safely. In light of this the organisers stopped the meeting and the result was declared at the end of Q3. It would be another top 10 finish for Kyle (9th) followed by Ed (13th), Nathan (15th), Callum (41st), Matthew (63rd), Myself (64th), Jack (66th) and Stu (68th).
All in all, a great weekend (if a little damp) and thanks once again the the EPR crew for putting on a great event.

RegionalsIt’s the 2WD EPR Regional this Sunday.
The new championships started last night so it was week 1 of 15 with the best 12 to count. We’re still getting a lot of new faces walking through the door and some of those guys have now bought cars so we look forward to seeing you all on the track soon 🙂 No computer issues this week which was a nice contrast to a week ago 😡
So the hall had an open day to showcase to the locals what activities and clubs use the hall on a regular basis and we were there in force.
There was a steady stream of people walking through the door and we got to show all the locals what we as a club are all about. We also found the time to have some tea and make some silly faces…

So the 13/5/16 saw the yet another meeting on Faversham Off-Road Car Club’s well established Astro surface. The FORCC is Boughton Village’s best indoor facility offering regular off-road club racing on a Wednesday evening along with indoor bowls and scrapbooking being held at the venue most weekends. It was a quieter than normal evening due to many of the club’s regular F1 driver’s taking a well earned break before this weekends National but I think that just meant there was a little more fun to go round for the rest of us 😉 . Those of you that were there last night will be quite aware that we had to get a bit retro and manually count the evening. Thank you all for you patience and to Nathan, Jeff, Mark and anyone else that took a turn counting the cars. I believe I’ve got to the root of the problem but I won’t know for sure until the postman arrives tomorrow… All things being equal, next week will be round 1 of the new championship unless we’re still having issues in which case it will have to be another non-championship week.
A huge thank you to Ben and the 1066 crew down in Hastings for putting on their first ever Regional last weekend. It was a great meeting and it’s a fantastic venue which quite possibly has one of the best indoor rostrums in the UK!
There’s nothing on this weekend due to the National being on, but next weekend you’re spoiled for choice with both Barham and EPR running meetings on Sunday.
One more non-championship week to go and we’ll get back to normal service 🙂 It wasn’t all non-championship though since it was truck week too. It’s also great to see so many juniors at the club at the moment.
This weekend is 2WD indoors down at 1066 in Hastings. It’s not too late top get involved with the Regionals this year. The 2WD Championship hasn’t started yet…

Hi all
Looking forward to hosting you at our regional on May 8th; if any of you haven’t been before and would like to get a bit of practice in on our carpet surface then we have a special extra race meeting this Sunday, the 1st of May.
Track build/racing starts at 1700 as usual for our club night, a few of us will be there early this week doing track maintenance (from 1400) to make sure we’re at our best for the regional!
