Week C

Results Updated

Busy night last night with 1 person shy of 8 heats and it wasn’t even truck week 😎. Great to see some old faces pop in for the evening. Obviously the evening was a little subdued by the absence of Les however last we heard he was taking small steps on the long road to recovery and of course we are still routing for him 🙏. We will have a card available on Sunday at round 5 of the Winter Series for anyone that would like to sign it.

Get well soon Les Kerry

From Ed Kerry’s Facebook post:

Hello just to let you no my dad was rushed to kings in London he had a brain hemorrhage/stroke the next 24h is the most important he pulls though 🙏🏻 he is staying strong if racing people need stuff can contact me i will try an sort things out

Our thoughts are obviously with Les, Deb, Ed and the rest of the Kerry family and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Jon.

Awesome track photo… NOT!

So the Tooth Fairy paid me a visit but instead of taking teeth and leaving money, she took all my money and left me teeth! Shiney Metal Expensive Teeth… 😎 Roll on truck week! 🙃

Winter Series Round 5…

…is a week on Sunday (19/2/17).

Truck Week

Results Updated

A reminder that February is Non-championship for the buggies but for the Trucks it was Round 2 of the 2017 championship. After a promising start, one truck’s idler gear would prove unable to cope with its driver’s talent… 😝

Note to self, order metal idler gear 🙂

Because he said I wouldn’t mention it, you should all know that Alan was very pleased to get 2nd overall in the Trucks 🏁

Week 15 of 15…

So yet another championship draws to a close at the FORCC which means congratulations must be in order…

In 4WD, Congratulations to Dave Andrews for the win, to some bloke called Jon Peters just 3 points adrift in second and to Martin Reeves for third.

In 2WD, Congratulations to Kyle Moon for the win, to Neil Gavin just 3 points adrift in second, to Adrian Barrett for third and I think an honourable mention for Verner Vonk in fourth place with his Holiday Buggy. That means 41 drivers were beaten by a Holiday Buggy… #JustSayIn 😝

We will now run 4 weeks of non-championship meetings for the buggies and we will resume the championships the first week of March. Next week sees the second installment of The Mighty 2017 Short Course Championship. For some reason which I can’t quite put my finger on, I’m quite looking forward to next week…

Supporting the FORCC Winter Series

Thanks to everyone that supported the club’s Winter Series today. There were 38 entries accross the 3 classes which was a pretty good turnout considering there were other events on and at least 1 person was ill (or at least he said he was…). Obviously the biggest thank you for the day goes to Ness for producing some excellent jacket spuds and bacon rolls. They were awesome 🙂

Week 13

Winter Series Round 4 of 6 is this Sunday

Doors open 7:30 as usual and we’ll aim to be racing by 9:45. The usual 4 Qualifiers and 3 Finals for all 🙂 No Hotdogs this time but we’ll have some Jacket potatoes available instead 😎

Mmmmmmmmmmmm….

Happy New Year

Welcome back after the Christmas break. I hope Santa brought you all something nice 😀

Well it was back with a bang with 50 entries spread across the 3 classes last night. I haven’t seen a queue that long for booking in for many a race evening. I guess everybody was super keen to show off their shiny new 2017 BRCA membership cards 😎. There were still a few that were joining on their mobile phones on the night but we got their in the end so well done and thank you all for getting that done. Nobody was getting past Dave without it so bear that in mind if you weren’t there last night and haven’t renewed yet and just a reminder that for the second year running we have scrapped the club membership fee to help you all offset the increased cost of the BRCA membership 😍

The championship results have been updated with week 12 for the buggies and a new 2017 championship for the trucks. Round 4 of the Winter Series is a week on Sunday (15th)

Merry Christmas

So yet another year of Racing draws to a close at the Faversham Off-Road Car Club and as always we like to end with a bit of a Party and to give everyone the opportunity to let their hair down a bit.

Praying to the God of Crossovers to ensure there would be neither carnage or cheating… Oh well, you did your best
Food preparation well under way…

The crowds are gathering…

We decided to give the Endurance a year off this year and opt for a simpler points based team race format. I have a feeling though that the Endurance will be back next year… 😜The heats were all a bit mixed up with 2WD, 4WD and SCT all in together and the teams were chosen at random. The teams were:

Team 1 Team 2 Team 3 Team 4
Elliott Matthew Ed Nathan
Dave George Mark Darren
John Jon Alan Nail
Kyle Harpreet Luke Mickey
Jeff Sam Jamie Callum
Mark Bob Jeremy Tom
Adrian Les Graham Matt
Bradley Lee Kai Ben
Verner Hattie William Nick
Ian Elliott Evie Alfie
Jake John James

There were 2 Rounds of Racing with 7 heats in each and drivers were racing for their teams. The top finishers for each team in each race scored points (10, 8, 6 & 4). It actually made for some pretty close scoring with all for teams level after the first 6 races. Quite remarkable. Round 2 though would see one team making a break for victory and that team was Team 3 so congratulations to you guys for a well deserved win

Team 1 Team 2 Team 3 Team 4
Round 1
Heat 1 4 8 10 6
Heat 2 10 6 4 8
Heat 3 4 8 10 6
Heat 4 8 6 4 10
Heat 5 6 8 10 4
Heat 6 10 6 4 8
Heat 7 6 4 10 8
Round 2
Heat 1 4 8 10 6
Heat 2 8 10 4 6
Heat 3 8 4 10 6
Heat 4 8 4 6 10
Heat 5 4 8 10 6
Heat 6 8 4 6 10
Heat 7 6 4 10 8
Total 94 88 108 102

You can’t have a Christmas meeting without Alan having his say…

Speech!

He did have one very important thing to say though and that was to say Thank you and Farewell to Lisa. She has run the tuck shop for 3 years but is leaving us for Pastures new. Thank you for looking after us so well Lisa 😍

Farewell Lisa. Thank you for putting up with us for so long 🙂

The big event of the night (apart from the food and drink…) was of course the Raffle. There were some cracking prizes on offer and a serious amount of tickets were bought. Congratulations to those that won something and better luck next time to those that didn’t.

Lots of Lovely Prizes!

Raffle Time!

So that’s it then and all that remains for me to say is Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at the club and a reminder that there is no racing next week but we will be back on the 4th of January 2017 where we will very much be looking forward to both you and your shiny new 2017 BRCA licenses! 😎

Cheers,

Jon.
