Thanks to everyone that supported the club’s Winter Series today. There were 38 entries accross the 3 classes which was a pretty good turnout considering there were other events on and at least 1 person was ill (or at least he said he was…). Obviously the biggest thank you for the day goes to Ness for producing some excellent jacket spuds and bacon rolls. They were awesome 🙂
Doors open 7:30 as usual and we’ll aim to be racing by 9:45. The usual 4 Qualifiers and 3 Finals for all 🙂 No Hotdogs this time but we’ll have some Jacket potatoes available instead 😎
Welcome back after the Christmas break. I hope Santa brought you all something nice 😀
Results Updated
Well it was back with a bang with 50 entries spread across the 3 classes last night. I haven’t seen a queue that long for booking in for many a race evening. I guess everybody was super keen to show off their shiny new 2017 BRCA membership cards 😎. There were still a few that were joining on their mobile phones on the night but we got their in the end so well done and thank you all for getting that done. Nobody was getting past Dave without it so bear that in mind if you weren’t there last night and haven’t renewed yet and just a reminder that for the second year running we have scrapped the club membership fee to help you all offset the increased cost of the BRCA membership 😍
The championship results have been updated with week 12 for the buggies and a new 2017 championship for the trucks. Round 4 of the Winter Series is a week on Sunday (15th)
So yet another year of Racing draws to a close at the Faversham Off-Road Car Club and as always we like to end with a bit of a Party and to give everyone the opportunity to let their hair down a bit.
We decided to give the Endurance a year off this year and opt for a simpler points based team race format. I have a feeling though that the Endurance will be back next year… 😜The heats were all a bit mixed up with 2WD, 4WD and SCT all in together and the teams were chosen at random. The teams were:
Team 1
Team 2
Team 3
Team 4

There were 2 Rounds of Racing with 7 heats in each and drivers were racing for their teams. The top finishers for each team in each race scored points (10, 8, 6 & 4). It actually made for some pretty close scoring with all for teams level after the first 6 races. Quite remarkable. Round 2 though would see one team making a break for victory and that team was Team 3 so congratulations to you guys for a well deserved win

You can’t have a Christmas meeting without Alan having his say…
He did have one very important thing to say though and that was to say Thank you and Farewell to Lisa. She has run the tuck shop for 3 years but is leaving us for Pastures new. Thank you for looking after us so well Lisa 😍
The big event of the night (apart from the food and drink…) was of course the Raffle. There were some cracking prizes on offer and a serious amount of tickets were bought. Congratulations to those that won something and better luck next time to those that didn’t.
So that’s it then and all that remains for me to say is Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at the club and a reminder that there is no racing next week but we will be back on the 4th of January 2017 where we will very much be looking forward to both you and your shiny new 2017 BRCA licenses! 😎
Today was Round 3 of 6 of the 2016-2017 FORCC Winter Series supported by Schumacher Racing
The were 42 drivers spread across the 2WD, 4WD and SCT classes and as always there were some great battles throughout the field and tasty hotdogs for lunch 😍. The track was a little different with 2 matted sections and a central tabletop but it flowed very well and and great to drive on.
Below are the overall winners after 3 legs from each final:
We look forward to seeing you all for Round 4 on the 15th of January 2017 🙃
I’ve managed to get through a whole post without mentioning BRCA renewal… Oh, dammit!
If you absolutely have to join with a paper based application then you’ll need to print the form off from the brca website and post it to them yourself. Do not bring it to the club… The form is here: https://www.brca.org/485-2017-brca-membership-form-pdf
Revised Calendar
18/12/16 – Winter Series Round 3
21/12/16 – Christmas Team Meeting – Team races, Free buffet, Christmas Music and lots of festive cheer 😍. As usual, we’re putting out an appeal for donations to the Christmas raffle. Large, small, rc or alcoholic… It’s all good to us 😋. We also like to see festively decorated drivers and cars!
28/12/16 – No race meeting – The hall is now unavailable 🙁
4/1/17 – No 2017 BRCA Membership, No race!!! You have been warned…
So this week saw the year-long Short Course Truck championship draw to a close and as if that wasn’t enough, this week there were 12 trucks in 1 heat. It was quite a thing to behold with only minimal damage to both marshals and the venue 😉 I filmed round 1 and I’ll upload it when I get a spare 5 minutes.
With the championship now over, it only remains to say congratulations to Dave Andrews for winning the championship, Martin Reeves for second and Tony Bronger for third.
End of an Era?
Our friends over at Maritime Racing have posted this message:
Maritime Racing News
URGENT NEWS
Dear Racers
It is with a sad heart that I have to informing you that as of 06/12/16
The Historic Dock Yard informed Maritime Racing with Notice on both TC and Off Road tracks this is due to development of the build to be used as office.
The first part of the development will be started at the TC Track
The time scale we have been given is very small window for the closing date
TC Track last meeting will be 23rd February 2017
Off Road Track last meeting will be 28th March 2017
The above dates will not have any effect on race nights or dates for now until the closing date
It has been an honor for the Maritime Racing Committee past and present to serve you with your racing needs over the years
As yet we don’t know if they will try to relocate to a new venue or close for good but we wish them all the best with whatever the future holds for them. They will be sorely missed in the Region in both the on and off-road communities.
21/12/16 – Christmas Team Meeting – Team races, Free buffet, Christmas Music and lots of festive cheer 😍. As usual, we’re putting out an appeal for donations to the Christmas raffle. Large, small, rc or alcoholic… It’s all good to us 😋.
28/12/16 – UPDATED – No race meeting
4/1/17 – No 2017 BRCA Membership, No race!!! You have been warned…
If you don’t need it, please don’t use it… We’re not the only group to use the hall on Wednesday evenings so please leave the spaces closest to the entrance available for those that need it most. Thank you 🙂
Your BRCA license will expire at the end of the year but you’ll be pleased to know that the BRCA website is now accepting renewals for the 2017 season. The bad news is that the cost has increased this year to £20 😐. Apparently they have improved the level of cover provided by the insurance which is why the cost has increased. Head over to www.brca.org and get your BRCA membership renewed today 😀. The club cannot join for you. It’s your responsibility as a racer to join the BRCA if you want to continue racing in 2017…
FORCC Club Membership For 2017
Because we’re such an awesome club, we like to do what we can to help you guys out and bring down the cost of your racing so for the second year in a row there will be no FORCC club membership fee 😍.
