Hi everyone,
A very busy night of buggy racing, with some new racers, welcome to the family guys, I hope you enjoyed your evening with us.
We do need to remember to be careful and vigilant around all of our marshals, this is still a high speed sport that we enjoy as entertainment but injuries can happen so please take care.
Videos of everyones last races of the night have been uploaded to YouTube, these do show some scrapes and some areas of concern around driver etiquette when cars are being marshalled. Please do not throttle up your cars when a marshal has come out to get you back on track, at the same point if you are driving and see a marshal has come out to recover a vehicle, please slow down to allow them safe passage to and from the cars.
I am always available to come and talk too if you have any questions or concerns and I’ll speak with everyone next week before racing.

The results from Wednesday night are now posted up for you to review. It has been a great start to the New Year and lovely to see all your faces back again for another championship, some new members joining us as well and a huge welcome to them.
From Wednesday night I filmed rounds two and three they are available on our YouTube channel as always, I believe also the presentations for last year’s championship photos will be on our Instagram. The mini championship tyres were also handed out and again my thanks to you all for taking part to get us back on track for this year.
As the chairman of the club it does fall to me to remind people about safety and being appropriate so I am sorry to the people impacted by the behaviour of a single driver on Wednesday night. I only mention it here to put on record that our club alongside the BRCA has a zero tolerance policy to any inappropriate behaviour. The driver will remain banned from racing with us until the members impacted have been apologised too.

Thank you for an excellent start to 2023.

First things first, the presentations from last year will take place on the LAST race day of this month. January the 25th!

Second thing to mention is the RallyX cars, they start racing as of next week, 18th January. David Armstrong and Dave Andrews have put in time and effort to speak with people and create the framework of regulations that will be the start of this season. We will review them after every fourth race, please feel free to use our email to give your feedback. The document can be found at – RallyX-ver1

This week was our final meeting of the year! No more racing until January the 4th, so please remember that date, it is our first car and truck meet of 2023 and it will be the start of the new championship.

We are deeply grateful to Ness and Kaye who keep us all fed and watered throughout the year, our thanks also to our amazing raffle ticket selling ladies who put in a huge effort coming round to everyone, and a thank you to all our generous donators of gifts for the raffle, further thanks to Kyle and Max for the track designs that keep us all hunting for that extra second a lap, and all of you racers who come every week to race with us and fight for the championship bragging rights.

Our Christmas night was broken into two rounds of racing, the first stint being the usual format of racing each other in your own heat. The second round was a one hour endurance race. Each heat that had been racing each other became a team that had to work together and race one at a time to complete as many laps as possible over the 60 mins. It proved to be hugely funny and amazingly competitive with three of the teams after an hours driving and 9 driver changes each to be within just a couple of laps of each other and the final ranking being decided on the last lap. Amazing!

Please watch the videos on our YouTube channel, at least you’ll get to see the moment I destroy my car, sad times, it looks like such a non incident but it has infact bent the chassis completely which explained why the steering had gone so strange as I continued my stint. I still throughly enjoyed the night, fantastic racing all round.

It was a huge team effort to put on and a night that I can’t wait to do all over again next year! Bring on 2023, a new championship, new cars, new events and a whole year of entertainment!
