IMPORTANT NEWS

A lot to pack in this week, but please take the time to have a read through, it’s very important.

1/ The mini championship is now finished, thank you so much to all of you for giving it your total commitment and even managing to cope with reverse grids for a bit of fun. We will speak with the winners on Wednesday night and arrange your tyres.

2/ Next week the 21st December is our Christmas do! PLEASE if you are able to contribute to our raffle by bringing a little something for people to win including yourselves by default through your purchase of tickets, we would REALLY REALLY appreciate your support.  For those who are new members this year, we will have a little bit of fun racing and then there will be lots of free food and drinks for everyone to enjoy. Please bring family with you and as always this night is open to racers, old and new who wish to come back or meet us and celebrate the season.

3/ The rally cars appear to have been a hit all round, we could instantly see that straight out of the box versions of the car with standard motors were a little slow around the track so Dave Armstrong will be talking with the drivers and coming up with a set of specs to hopefully keep everyone enjoying what looks like a pretty close style of racing. We will try to have the specs ready after next weeks event as I appreciate the calendar that everyone will be following has the first race as the 18th January! Something like plastic commercially available chassis, sport tuned or equivalent motor and a specific type of tyre as a base line, people will be allowed to fit hop ups outside of those guiding principles. The videos will be up on our YouTube later this week.

4/ Our first day back WILL be the 4th January, this date WILL be a starting championship date for 2wd, 4wd and truck, so please be prepared to hit the ground running in the New Year.

I’ll see everyone for the party on Wednesday night!
Thank you, Mark

30th November results

Hi all, I’ve uploaded the results, apologies for a slight delay in doing so this week.

It was another great week of racing with lots of people trying to lock down thier positions in the championship as we close towards the end, remember it’s your best 5 results so even that last race could count!

This week is truck week as well so please come armed and ready for battle!, sorry I mean racing.

Wednesday the 14th December the rally cars are going to have 5 mins of demonstration racing, thank you to Dave for arranging this with people who have sent emails into our inbox. They will race just after everyone’s practice sessions and before the nights heats get underway.

This is an opportunity to show case the cars and for everyone to have a look at the class and how they race together. Feel free to talk to the guys and get your votes in if you like what you see.
Please, please, please read our website posts – http://www.forcc.co.uk/?p=3316 , this is your chance to have a say in next year’s racing and you MUST e-mail in unless you are in a position where e-mail doesn’t work for you, in which case, speak to a committee member who MUST e-mail from their account confirming your opinion, which I will validate with you.
Thank you, Mark

The mini championship racing is thick and fast, it was a busy week this week. I’ve uploaded the results and the two videos I managed to take on the night. The 2wd A class and the 4wd A class finals. Thank you to our racers for attending and helping out. Remember next week is reverse grids again so keep an eye on your positions, and remember this is all for fun! Enjoy the racing and look forward to Christmas.

16/11 results updated

Hi everyone, this week was a little different, it was week 2 of racing but the first of 3 times that we are doing reverse grids. Thank you all for throwing yourselves into this with such committment. It was a great nights racing thank you, here is to next weeks racing. Cheers, Mark

Update Nov 12/22

Hi everyone, I have uploaded the first results for our little mini championship, it’s a blast to the flag so blink and you’ll miss it! Not really, it was just a wrap up of the final weeks of the year, watch out for next week! It’s a reverse grid on the night, so if you are driver one in your heat, you will actually start from the back, just a little fun to keep it entertaining as we get through to Christmas!

The email responses to the calendar so far have all been positive in regards to option C. This gives the committee and the members a fixed break in the summer, with the caveat that we fully appreciate every member of this club that continues to support us and if 30 people are all racing the week before and were to ask pretty please with a cherry on top can we race next week, then I’m sure as a committee we could work out laptops, food and drink, track design and support to come up with something viable.

In terms of the votes for another championship each month the voting so far stands at:
Not to happen = 1
Rally cross cars = 6
If you feel strongly about racing another class each month, NOW is your time to speak, whether that’s to vote for something like vintage or further support rally it is up to you.

If you have concerns around mashalling and having enough people if you have multiple class drivers on the night, or the lateness of another night in the month and would rather vote against it, that is also acceptable, NOW is the time to speak.

Everyone’s voice will be heard (Not literally as I’m only announcing vote numbers not sentencing you all to a 5min slot at the Christmas party!) and whatever happens I’m sure 2023 will be filled with as much fun, laughs and crashes as any normal non-covid year! 🙂

Thank you, Mark

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

Hi everyone, please download and view the word document via – http://www.forcc.co.uk/?attachment_id=3309 , this is an important part of the clubs next steps and gives you a voice. I have created two calendars for people to look at for next year (It’s my hope that going forward every year you will have a calendar laying out the next years racing similar to this) the only real difference is whether or not we have a full club closure in the summer and set a break that everyone can take off (giving the committee and the organisers who grease all the wheels a timeout) or if you prefer to stay open and bring the children etc and we have the break as extended non-championship days. The option if no one votes otherwise is we will have a break period.

The second part of the document is offering you a voice on running another type of championship, i.e vintage or rally cars etc, we have to be sensible and have rules as well as popularity metrics so gather every voice and vote as you wish, in the same tone though if you have family etc and believe another extra night a month (Making 2 a month as we would run it on alternate weeks to trucks) having extended closing times is too much, you are equally invited to vote that way.

WE ARE RUNNING A 6 WEEK MINI CHAMPIONSHIP from Wednesday the 9th (NEXT WEEK)! This is a one off as we have been left out of sync because of the January COVID closures etc that disrupted the start of our racing year. I would like to spice things up and have a little fun with it though as it is just a mini championship and not a long term thing so things like reverse grids may be brought in on some of the weeks, the prize is a little gift of tyres for next years return to normal racing.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and too send us your feedback, shaping a part of our club as we move forward and hopefully put covid in the rear view mirror! Showing up and supporting us and giving us great racing every week is truly appreciated by all the committe and friends who keep everything going for you to enjoy your Wednesday evenings.

Thank you, Mark

That’s a wrap folks!

Hi everyone, I’d like to take a moment and thank each and every one of you for your support in this championship season. All of you who come early and help set the track up, not forgetting several new contributors for track ideas and shapes. Everyone on the committee that helps with keeping everything running on a week to week basis. The family support with running the tuck shop and too you all for coming and racing and marshalling, and a huge thank you to the people who help clear up at the end of the night, you are wonderful and hugely important, without any of you and all of you, this family club couldn’t continue to run. So thank you.

I’ve filmed round 2 and 3 of everyone’s races this week, I hope you enjoy. Please let me know if you would like to see anything different, i.e. change the angles and see cars closer but lose the whole view. Any constructive criticism or feedback of what you would like to see more of from your club is always appreciated and gratefully received.

Remember the naming structure aligns with our results page, http://www.forcc.co.uk/?page_id=35 so if you are in heat 3 and took part in round 3, you can align your timings and laps with the visuals on the video, seeing if you lost time from marshalling or incidents on the track or had a great lap over taking and in clean air.

See you all next week, and remember it’s TRUCK WEEK, heaven help us all!!, thank you.
Cheers, Mark

Week 13

The results for week 12 and 13 have been updated.

The commitee would like to say a huge thank you to Brian and Dan for thier support and assistance on the night of week 12. Thank you to all of the members for staying late and staying in numbers to make sure everything was put away safely and everyone was personally safe, it is very much appreciated and very reflective of our clubs family first motto.

I’m uploadind the racing footage from rounds 2 and 3 of everyones night for this week, so week 13 as work kept me away from week 12 so no footage. Have a great week and see you back again on Wednesday, thank you all, Mark.
